Awesome backup cave light. Superb functioning in silty/ low visibility situations. Tight focused beam, bright. Putting a strip of inner tube tire on the head makes it easy to turn on/off with gloves. Fits in the Raider hand sock.Awesome light.

I've had this flashlight for a few months now. Solidly built, weighty, front twisty dive torch that uses AAA batteries (2 lots [in parallel] of 3 [in series] - so either 3 or 6 AAAs may be used - and yes, I have tested this myself and it does not affect brightness - only runtime). Comes with good, adjustable lanyard. Focusses a decent center beam surrounded by generous spill. Good throw as would be expected for an underwater light. This thing is built like a tank. By applying pressure to the head when adjusted correctly it can be turned on in brief intervals [or for as long as the pressure is applied] instead of through twisting. If this method is used, the flashlight can be operated with just one hand. Slightly purple beam tint. I compared its beam with that of my TaskForce 3W (150 lumen thrower) and the TaskForce was brighter, but not by much. I would estimate, on Energizer alkalines, this Dorcy to run at around 140 lumens. The Cons: Again, it is FRONT-TWISTY! Don't expect to press a button to turn it on! The reason I gave this light 3 stars instead of 4 was because it is a front twisty (tighten to turn on, loosen to turn off) instead of a push-button/switch operated dive light. I haven't dived with it, but the thought of trying to operate this light with gloves is less than appealing. In fact, there isn't even any knurling on the head, making it even more difficult to turn on/off (slippery). Also, the seal is most intact when it's in "On" mode. If you unscrew the head (turning it off) too far, the o-ring seal is actually compromised (yes, the head completely screws off). So for a dive light, I give it 3 stars.

I'm a scubadiver and two months ago I bought this Submersible Led Light. I used it when I went scuba diving in Guam at night to catch spiny lobsters in the reefs. I was amazed how bright it was in the dark water and kinda blinded the lobsters they just stayed in one place when I shine the light on them. Highly recomended for avid divers.
