I was torn with giving this a good or great rating. At first I gave it good, then changed it to great. Here is why. There are other lantern out there that do everything this one does and more, which is why my rating was going to be good, then I compared the prices of the other "do more" lanterns and they were much more. So in its price range I feel this is a great lantern. I read some of the other comments and while I see the point of the person who liked the silver colored lantern because it was easier to find in the dark, I really prefer the green color, and Dorcy's styling to create a retro-realistic looking lantern, with hints of a gas lantern via the mock globes. It just works for me in the styling department, and they did it in a compact package that offers simple functionality. And if you want to find it easliy at night, just leave the night light on. This thing will run for weeks and weeks with that night light on. I took it camping recently and put the night light on at dust and off in the dawn. Leaving it on on overnight gave a slight warm glow to the cabin, and just enough light to navigate by once my eyes were adapted to the darkness.

we used thsi light for a week camping in florida and it ran everynight and all night with the night light. never had to change the batteries. good light. nice and bright

I liked the silver/gray luminator lanter better. It had a strong durable casing and if it was turned off, you could still find it in the moonlight....dark green does not work for my fishermen and campers (21 and 25) they are very hard on lanterns...but they still have the Luminators.
