I've seen an used similar lights before, but they really didn't impress me much. This Dorcy version is pretty good. It puts out a reasonable amount of light, has several settings to choose how you want it to operate and is easy to setup and install. While its primary function may be for stairs, it really can be used in any area you want some extra light. I just gave one to my buddy who is a police officer and keeps his guns in a big stand up save in a closet. He was looking for a light for the inside of the safe. He was just using a flashlight to illuminate the inside, but now when he opens the safe this light comes on automatically, and his hands are free to get when he needs. He loves it.

Cool light. Use it in my garage, works good for when I come home late at night. It turns on as soon as I drive into the garage. Very bright too.

Super bright light. Best one I have had considering all of the junk ones I tried at Walmart. The sensor seems to be very accurate in detecting movement every time. I just ordered 5 more for my house and backyard. LOVE IT!

Love this product! I have been looking for something like this for years to put in my stairwell outside. Have always worried that my kids or a neighbor would trip going down the steps. Solar lights won't work because the stairwell isn't in direct sunlight. Loved it so much I bought 2 for home and another 2 for my parents and in-laws.

I have been searching for safety/emergency light for the top or our stairs for YEARS! This product activates only when needed, and cast a broad light that shines over 15 feet. I no longer have to worry about guests or my aging parents accidently steping into the top of the stairs and risking a fall. I ordered another for use on the basement steps. Great performance for the money!"
